Emerging Scholars

The Center’s Fellowship Program for Early Care and Education Research Among Hispanic Populations provides early career scholars studying early care and education (ECE) topics among Hispanic populations—including Hispanic children and families served by ECE and the Hispanic ECE workforce—the opportunity to participate in a 12-month program that provides seed research funds and valuable mentoring and professional development experiences.

Our Professional Development Grant for Early Career Faculty at Hispanic Serving Institutions/Emerging Hispanic Serving Institutions aims to support their professional development activities that will enhance professional growth as scholars and educators.

Our Research Scholars Program funds emerging scholars, including those from historically underrepresented populations, to conduct research with Center investigators.

We host mentoring and networking events to facilitate discussions between emerging scholars and mentors on shared research interests, ideas for collaborations, and professional development.

In addition to our Research Scholars Program and our mentoring and networking events, we provide virtual resources and activities to support emerging scholars.

The Center supports three poverty and social mobility scholars who are in the early stages of their research careers, have the potential for leadership in supporting members of populations that are underrepresented among academic researchers, and focus on Hispanic population research to attend a weeklong convening, in Davis, California, where they will receive mentoring and career development opportunities.
